It was so unexpected to find an authentic piece of Georgia - not the one just above Florida but the ex-USSR republic at Black Sea shore - amidst New York state. So if you're open for new culinary experience - here you are. The food was good enough and follows what I remember from my previous life. Wine list is 100 per cent Georgian. I especially recommend Rkatsiteli Amber but other red dries were also good (semi-sweet ones though are not what they used to be 40+ years ago, alas). Service was perfect.

While on a trip to Connecticut, we stopped by Badageoni for a late lunch—and it turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip. We were starving, and the food hit every mark: comforting, hearty, and fresh. Though the portion sizes looked small, they were incredibly filling—any more and we would've been uncomfortably full. Here's what we had: Pkhali Rolls Eggplant and sweet peppers stuffed with walnut pâté A small but deeply flavorful plate. The smoky eggplant paired beautifully with the slightly textured walnut pâté, offering a creamy and earthy balance to the oiliness of the eggplant. The sweet peppers almost had a pickled quality, bringing a sour contrast that cut through the richness. The highlight, however, was the cornbread patty—dense, creamy, and subtly sweet. Unlike American-style cornbread, it had a smoother texture and made the perfect palate cleanser between bites. Mini Khinkali Beef & pork dumplings in yogurt sauce, topped with puff pastry This was the standout dish. Served in a small clay pot, the dumplings were tender and juicy, nestled in a tangy, rich yogurt sauce. The puff pastry lid trapped in steam and, once soaked in the sauce, turned into the perfect flaky companion to the dish. It was comforting, balanced, and unforgettable—I’ve thought about it every day since. Chakapuli Lamb stew with white wine, tarragon, scallions, sour plums & herbs, served with shoti bread This was a unique and exciting dish. The combination of tarragon and sour plums was unlike anything I’ve had before. The stew was fragrant and bright, with the sour notes lifting the richness of the lamb and completely eliminating any gamey flavor. The white wine presence was a bit strong at first but mellowed with each bite. The shoti bread—baked in a traditional tone oven—was fresh, stretchy, and ideal for sopping up the broth. We visited around 3 PM and had the place nearly to ourselves. The service was excellent—attentive, thoughtful, and well-paced. We were tempted by the d

This place is truly outstanding, and shockingly it seems to only get better with time. If you never tried, go try! If you tried, I bet you’ll be back just like us. 😃 All items on the menu are outstanding, but my personal favorite is khinkali. They are basically the best “soup” dumplings you can ever try. This place is truly a product of love.

This was the first time we visited a Georgian restaurant and we were very impressed. The ambiance, service and food was outstanding. Sofia was our waitress and she did an excellent job explaining the different dishes and her recommendations were spot on. I can't wait to come here again!!

This is a really good Georgian restaurant. We really like the ajaruli (ajarian khachapuri). Khinkali is also very good.

Georgian food never disappoints, this place especially good. The kitchen offers everything that Georgian people are proud of: 5 or 6 khachapuri with different cheeses, khinkali, kebabs, stews. Their salad dressing is amazing! Be prepared to stuff your bellies because everything is full of flavors. Top it of with great selection of Georgian wines, beer and cocktails. Their hospitable and attentive crew makes sure you feel like home.

Our first time trying Georgian cuisine at Badalgeoni was a total success! The khachapuri was cheesy perfection, and the khinkali (soup dumplings) were fun to eat -think like xiao long pao but bigger. All the meats—the lamb chops, grilled chicken skewer and chicken hen—were perfectly cooked, juicy, and delicious. To top it off, the Georgian soda and lemonade were the perfect refreshing pairings. Such a nice experience and a wonderful introduction to these flavors. A bit pricey but worth every penny.
